STEP 1 Your Home
When people are buying artwork, they often find a painting they love but it doesn't fit anywhere in their home. The solution is to commission one to fit. I love doing commissions. As a graphic designer, I'm used to input and feedback, which often results in a stronger piece. This can work very well as long as the expectation is that the painting will be in my style and the subject matter is similar. We'll talk it all over before we get started. Don't be embarrassed to talk about color requests with me.—I welcome them.
STEP 2 The Decision
Decide on the size and shape of the canvas that you want. And whether or not you want to ultimately frame the painting. A gallery-wrapped canvas has a 1.25 -1.5 inch deep edge, doesn’t require a frame and has a clean contemporary look.
STEP 3 The Price
The price is determined by the size of the canvas and sometimes the subject matter. I require a 50% deposit to get started. The price does not include shipping.
STEP 4 The Process
Once I start painting and am almost finished, I will email you a photo for your feedback. Changes can be made at this point. After the painting is finished I email you a photo again for final approval. I want you to be completely happy with the end result! The final 50 percent (plus shipping) is due upon approval and before shipment.

COMMISSIONING A PET PORTRAIT
STEP 1 Your Pet
Email some favorite photos of your pet to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you only have prints, I can scan them– you won’t have to worry about getting them back; I promise to handle with care. Make sure to include a decent close up shot of your pet’s eyes if you can. And tell me a bit about your pet’s personality. The more I know, the better chance I have of capturing his or her unique spirit.
STEP 2 The Decisions
Decide on the size and shape of the canvas that you want. And whether or not you want to frame the portrait. A gallery-wrapped canvas, which I frequently use, has a 1.25 inch deep edge, doesn’t require a frame and has a clean contemporary look. Email me for details at email@example.com. Think about your color preferences for background or color scheme–it’s OK to want a color that goes with your couch. Together we can work out the details.
STEP 3 The Prices
Email me for a price list--the smallest size is 12 x 12 at $295.00. Additional pets or detailed backgrounds cost a little more. I ask for a 50 percent deposit to start work.

STEP 4 The Process
Once I start painting and am almost finished with the portrait, I will email you a photo of the painting for your feedback. Minor changes can be made at this point.
